With a few others we set aside 3 days of prayer and fasting regarding the COVID 19 virus. I grabbed a book about prayer off my husband’s shelf. I had no idea that there remained a “virus in my own heart” until I read this little book. It exposed previous sins not fully confessed and brought much needed re-examination and repentance. This personal housekeeping of my heart prepared me to humbly yet boldly ask for mercy and healing from God to cover our land and the nations affected by the C-virus. Highly recommend this little, 100 page power packed devotional. (Just wish it cost less so I could stock up and give as gifts!)

I found this book in my grandpa’s flat after his death. I can say that I found a real treasure. I just read the first theme (prayer in secret), but I want to read the others, too.
This man, Frans Bakker, wrote this text many many years before, but the words and the sentences are soooo actual in the present and in my life!

  3. Brett Rudder

Pound for pound the best available book on prayer. 12 very brief chapters on the nature of prayer, different types of prayer, our need for the God we pray to, and full of Scripture throughout. For every Christian. A once-a-year sort of book.
