2020 East Coast Conference Cancellation

Dear Brothers,

We are sorry to have to tell you that we have made a decision to cancel the Banner of Truth East Coast Conference. We are preparing to issue full refunds for those who have already registered, and will begin processing these in the next couple days. But, there are some opportunities for you to consider and if you want to avail yourself of them, we need to hear from you.

Cancellation & Consolation

As we monitored the COVID-19 situation, we were hopeful that conditions would improve sufficiently so that we could go ahead with our East Coast Conference at the end of May. Sadly, as the effects of the virus have spread, and as governments have extended stay-at-home orders, we don’t believe we can move ahead with the conference. This is a tough pill to swallow! The trustees and staff at the Banner of Truth look forward to this time of year. We love to host our brothers in ministry, fellowship with you all, and sit under the Word together. In times like this we remember the apostle’s exhortation: “We do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal” (2 Cor. 4:16-18). And so, as we let go of our conference time together, we remember that the Lord is still at work, perfecting his bride and turning her eyes towards heaven.

Refunds and Two Alternatives

If you had already registered, we are getting ready to process your refunds. If you would like a refund, you don’t need to do anything, we will process it for you. However, there are two alternatives to consider.

1. Perhaps, like us, it is hard to think of a year without an East Coast conference, but what about coming to our 2020 West Coast Conference in October? You can learn more about this conference here. This conference is slightly more expensive than our East Coast Conference, but if you transfer your registration, we will offer the same level of accommodations with no additional cost.

2. Would you like to transfer your registration to our 2021 East Coast Conference? There would be no additional cost to do this, we will just carry over your booking.

As you consider these alternatives, you should know that Banner is not under any major financial burdens at this time. We are not offering these because we are concerned about finances. We simply want to offer alternatives because we have already had some enquiries about transferring registration in the event of cancellation. So if you’re interested in doing so we’d be happy to provide this service.

IMPORTANT: If you would like to transfer your registration to one of these alternatives, we need to hear from you now; please email rob@banneroftruth.org. If we don’t hear from you by April 24th we will process a refund for you.
