September 2021 marks the 60th anniversary of the Puritan Paperback series.

Iain Murray, writing in 1961:

‘The first two titles of this new series are scheduled to appear in September. This is an endeavour to popularize in mid-twentieth century format some of the timeless literary treasure given to the Church in the seventeenth century. We hope that Heaven on Earth (a treatise on Christian Assurance) by Thomas Brooks and A Lifting Up for the Downcast by William Bridge will be widely used to introduce people to the riches of the writings of the Puritans. Both books are of a deeply experimental character pre-eminently designed for the heart.’
