Max McLean

Max McLean is President and Artistic Director of Fellowship for the Performing Arts, lead actor/director and author of the theatrical adaptation of C. S. Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters, narrator for the Listener’s Bible audio line, and speaker on the daily radio programme Listen to the Bible which airs on over 670 radio affiliates worldwide.

Born in Panama City, Panama in April, 1953, Max McLean immigrated to the United States when he was four. Due to his father’s military career, ‘home’ included many places across the continental United States, the Far East, and Europe. Brought up in a nominally Roman Catholic environment, McLean made a break with Christianity when he was 14, and dabbled for a while in eastern mysticism. He became a Christian in 1976, after reading through John’s Gospel in one sitting. That same year he married his wife Sharon. They have two daughters, Rachel and Julia. Max and Sharon are active members of Redeemer Presbyterian Church (PCA) in New York City.

McLean is co-author with Warren Bird of the book Unleashing the Word: Rediscovering the Public Reading of Scripture, published by Zondervan and The Journey of Jesus published by Thomas Nelson. He is the narrator of the audio version of The Valley of Vision (Banner of Truth).
