Our mission
The Banner of Truth Trust is a Christian organisation which publishes books, organises conferences, and publishes a monthly magazine.
Our objective is the promotion, advancement, and dissemination of a better knowledge and understanding of the history and doctrines of the true Biblical Christian Faith. We seek to inform, encourage, strengthen, and equip ordinary Christians, and have a particular concern for ministers/pastors, and those training for the ministry. We also seek to produce material that is evangelistic and in God’s providence may be used as a means to bring people to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as their saviour and Lord.
As an organisation, while being interdenominational in outlook and with our staffing, our doctrinal standards are best summed up by the Westminster Confession. We believe in Biblical Christianity, and if we have to be labelled, we would be thought of as a reformed, Calvinistic, conservative evangelical publisher. We seek to focus in our activities on the major and fundamental truths of Biblical Christianity, rather than on those truths which may be regarded as secondary (although not unimportant), such as church polity.
We trace our theological heritage from the apostles, through the early church, to the reformation, the Puritans such as Owen, Sibbes, and Brooks, the 18th century heritage of George Whitefield (our logo) and Jonathan Edwards, then on to the likes of Spurgeon, Ryle, Alexander, and Hodge in the 19th century, and Warfield, John Murray, Hendriksen and Lloyd-Jones in the 20th century.
We publish books that were written from the time of the reformation right through to the modern day.

We also publish interesting articles on the site which we hope will be helpful and stimulating for our visitors to read. You can also find daily devotional material on the site, which we trust you will find beneficial.
Our organisation and location
The Banner of Truth Trust is headquartered in Edinburgh, Scotland. USA distribution is dealt with through the Banner of Truth, USA, from our office and warehouse in Carlisle, PA.
We are registered as a charity in the UK, and as a non-profit corporation in the USA, and we are governed by a Board of Trustees in the UK and a Board of Directors in the USA. As a non-profit/charitable organisation, any surplus funds that are generated are put back into the organisation and used to further the work of the Trust.
The Banner of Truth Trust is not an endowed trust, and so its continued existence depends on sales of publications, donations from supporters, and the times that supporters remember the work of the Banner in their will.
An important part of the work of the Banner of Truth is the Bookfund. The Bookfund is supported by the gifts of donors, and from the sales of books, and is a fund that is used to provide Banner of Truth books either free of charge or at greatly reduced prices for those who otherwise would not be able to afford them.
We are extremely grateful for the ongoing financial support that we receive, and which enables the Trust to continue to publish new titles, arrange conferences, publish the magazine and operate the Bookfund.
