Arthur Bennett Books
Born in 1915, Arthur Bennett converted to Christ as a teenager at a Salvation Army mission. He became part of the caravan evangelism movement, traveling around Britain in a horse-drawn vehicle. In 1940, he was accepted by Clifton Theological College and became ordained in the Church of England. He served parishes for 39 years; lectured at All Nationals Christian College; served as canon at St. Albans Cathedral, and was a rector and theological tutor. Out of all the Arthur Bennett books, The Valley of Vision may be the most well known. It serves as a collection of Puritan prayers, intended to encourage Christians as they tread the path of prayer. These prayers are rich in Scripture but are never formulaic. They have their foundation in confessionalism while being theologically fresh, teaching readers to pray by example. It is also available in Spanish: El Valle de la Vision.
