History & Biography

Here are books on significant events and revivals in the history of the Church as well as Christian biographies (pastoral, missionary, puritan and reformer biographies). These books are warm theological reflections on historical events and people which challenge readers to learn from what God has accomplished through His Church in the past. Noteworthy books include The Agency that Transformed a Nation by J.C. Ryle, Amy Carmichael by Iain H. Murray, and The Life of John Calvin by W.J. Grier.

This selection includes biblical and reformed books on various theological topics, including many books from the classic Puritan Paperbacks series. These books are both theological and doxological in their exposition of their subjects, as our deep thinking about God should lead us to heartfelt worship of Him. Some notable titles on this page include The Doctrine of Repentance by Thomas Watson, The Mystery of Providence by John Flavel, and Confessing the Faith by Chad Van Dixhoorn.
